Day 18: Mashpee, rain, forts and friends

Sunday June 12th, Mashpee, MA.
We woke this morning to the sound of rain, drenching rain!
We weren’t disappointed a bit as this was the first planned ‘down’ day since the start of the trip. Today we got a good look at our quaint little cottage, located in Mashpee-that's sure fun to say-

and the kids had fun just being kids, building forts and making kid k’nex creations.

It really was just what we all needed after the go-go-go pace of the last 17 days. By pure chance, last week I saw a post on Face Book from my maid of honor that said she had moved to the Boston area, so I quickly tried to see if we could plan an impromptu get together. They could, we could, so we did!!
It was such a great evening of dinner, catching up after many years and all our kids running around like crazy wild animals, aided by the shark costume

 Laurel and Grace
It was loud, but it was even more of what they needed. Sarah’s husband made us the best homemade gourmet pizzas and Sarah made yummy brownies. Perfect end to a really nice, relaxing day. Thank you Po, Sarah, Gunner and Grace!!!
Tomorrow we’ll be ready to see more of the beautiful green scenery and amazing houses around here!
