Now interrupting birthday posts for...more birthdays!

As soon as the garage door shut, I set into action to get Bill's little surprise together.  Granted, birthdays after kids are no where near as exciting as birthdays BEFORE kids.  But that doesn't mean we don't try!  Last night while Bill was at scouts with the older boys, I cooked his birthday cake and today while he was coaching soccer practice I frosted the cake and the boys and my parents helped me 'decorate', quickly!!  What can I say...we like streamers around here-

I had the cake (doctored red velvet with homemade vanilla frosting) all ready to go so when he walked in from soccer practice we could sing. 

I lit the candles and we waited.......and waited.....I had to send Eric back to the garage to see if he was going to come in already!  He can take FOREVER in the garage.  I ended up blowing the candles out myself once and then relighting....... 

He very quickly understood why I wasn't so enthusiastic about going to soccer practice!  This is the 20th birthday of his we have celebrated together.  I can still remember the early birthdays like they were yesterday......my wish, even though it's not MY birthday, is for another 50!!  Although, I'm a little worried how creative I'll be about decorating by then...hmm.......
