You know you live in the 'country' when

If it's one thing we have come to truly love and appreciate about living in the 'rural' setting that we do, it is the wide open spaces our kids are able to enjoy.  The yard offers plenty of space for 5 kids to run hog wild without the worry of running each other over.  They can play ball without the worry of walloping each other or sending the ball into the neighbors window.  Although they do have to worry about sending the ball into OUR window......but that's not the point!

Yep, our yard provides plenty of opportunities to try out 'new' games.  For instance, this one they came up with last weekend.  It's called 'Can you hang backyard style'.  The rules and set up are pretty simple.

Step #1-Take the long scrap of landscaping plastic that dad is done with and lay on it, therefore making the plastic WAY more interesting to all siblings.

Step#2-Bribe Dad into seeing how strong he is......tell dad 'bet you can't pull us all'

Step #3-Stand back and watch Dad try to prove them wrong.

Step #4- It is the children's job to make sure they outlast dad, who is now trying his absolute best to run while pulling the plastic

Step#5- Place the same wager on our well loved neighbor who just happened to stop by wanting to say hi to the kids (he moved away over a year ago)

Step #6- Smile like crazy when you see Fernando up for the game and then down for the count!

Step#7- Dad ends the game with a 'bet you can't pull me wager'

Step#8-The kids all want to prove him wrong!!

Any other ideas?!
