The boys' first concert experience..Rascal Flatts!

Bill and I have been fortunate in the past to have seen Brad Paisley, Brooks and Dunn, Josh Turner and several other country singers in concert.  Each time we have been, the kids are always like 'awwww, why can't we go?'  Well, we have always wanted to see Rascal Flatts in concert, so when we found out they were coming here, we decided we'd take the boys with us.  Although, I have to say that the grass seats sure cost more than they used to.  Sheesh.  And forget eating there (we picked up the oh so healthy BK on the way), the prices are astronomically high.  Try $13 for a burger and fries.  It's probably not even a good burger.  Anyhow, on with the night!

We kept it a secret until the day of and while I would love to say they were wildly excited about it, the announcement was met with 'cool'.  Really guys?  I firmly reminded them that this was a big treat and they quickly put on their 'we are so thrilled we don't know what to do with ourselves' faces.  Eric was the most genuinely excited about it all!  The only bummer part was that by saving money and sitting in the grass seats, we had to get to the venue 90 minutes early.  Traffic was a pain in the rear because Joe Biden had been in town and the freeways were shut down until 5pm.  C'mon Joe, what's with that?

We told the boys to bring their homework and books.......they got a little bit of it done.
Our friends Greg and Robin went with us!
Aaron came with us too......he's such a good kid!
It was kind of funny to look at our group-the boys with notebook, textbook and pencils in hand and the adults all playing games on their phones while we waited.  Of course there was also the pencil in the mouth tricks to watch for entertainment too.
Chris Young and Kellie Pickler opened the show.  Chris Young was good.  Kellie Pickler...well, her dress was atrocious, her high heels were ridiculous and her voice was not so great since she was suffering with bronchitis or something.  She did cut her set short by a few minutes.  We weren't disappointed.
But Rascal Flatts? Phenomenal.  Terrific.  Loved it.  Sang out loud.  Completely appreciated how great they sound live!  SO GOOD!!!  I would definitely pay to see them again.  Well, grass seat prices anyways.
I was able to take some video with my phone, I'm just not tech savvy enough to get it off and download to here.  I bet Robin already has!!  She'll have to give me a tutorial!  The iPhone is all new to me.

We have another busy Saturday, crammed full of soccer games.  The boys are referring 4 to 5 games a piece, plus playing in their own game.  They are going to be some tired boys, that's for sure.  The balloon fiesta kicks off tomorrow so our skies will be *hopefully* (weather permitting) filled with lots to look at this next week.

Wow! You got some great pics! The easiest way to get video off your iPhone and onto your blog is to upload to YouTube.
