The snack bags are packed, all 7 of them. The suitcases are packed, all 7 of them. The backpacks are packed, all 7 of them. The food bin is stocked with extra snacks because the snack king, Luke is always on the prowl. The cameras, video camera, DVDs, Ipods, Gameboys, DS and DS games are all packed. The sack lunches for the road are waiting in the fridge and Parker is giving me serious puppy dog eyes. He knows. He can tell when the trailer is hooked up and we keep schlepping stuff out the door that things are about to get weird for him. He'll be in good hands with my parents.
We leave at O' dark 30 tomorrow morning, bound for snow capped mountains, highs of 50 where we are staying with highs of 80 only miles away, alpine slides, outdoor beauty, outlet malls and IKEA!!! We're also planning to have dinner with an old friend from high school-one who almost made the Olympics in speed skating! It will then be on to much sweatier pastures...hot and humid, but we'll be in good company with Uncle Nate, Aunt Mimi and cousins Michael and Joshua. That's going to be a LONG days drive. Only 14 hours. ONLY.
Perhaps I'll have internet access, perhaps I won't. We shall see! Until then, enjoy your summer days, wherever they may be spent.
