Happy 11th Birthday!!

11 years ago today, after laying in the hospital all night on magnesium sulfate to stop pre-term labor, my OB walked into the room and announced 'Well, looks like we're going to celebrate some birthdays today!'  The mag sulfate hadn't done much of anything to my contractions, but it did a number on me.......hot, uncomfortable, unable to sleep!

As first time parents, having the twins arrive at 33 weeks was scary, but now we fully understand that while it wasn't ideal, 33 weekers was actually pretty good for multiples!  Arriving first at 3:30pm was little Gregory, weighing in a 4lbs 3oz.
Following him a full 30+ minutes and several issues later, was Jacob, weighing in at 4lbs even.
Their first 3 weeks of life, stuck in the hospital, were filled with ups and downs, steps forward and steps back.  I can say the next 11 years have been more of the same thing!  Although, the joy they bring increases just as much as their age.  We have some amazingly good boys and it's sad to know how fast this journey is going.  We've surpassed the half-way mark to adulthood.  How the heck did THAT happen?!
A much better birthday tribute will come later today.  My thoughts and ability to get some things done this week have been directly affected by my mom's condition.

Wait til' you see what we did to their room for their 'birthday morning surprise'!

Like I told you the other day, I cannot believe it has been eleven years!!! How did that happen? Weren't we JUST sitting in childbirth classes breathing in and out and then eating rice krispy treats??

I love Dr. Harrison. Of course he said something so upbeat.

Cute pics of those wee ones.

Happy Birthday, G and J.
