Kinda weird to have such a fun weekend and no pictures to prove it. Aah, must be what it was like living with a film camera-never a picture when you needed one!
On Friday, Eric was invited to a friend's 'Game Truck' birthday party. Quite the set up I tell ya. A big huge trailer that is filled with state of the art equipment. Two Wii's and two Xbox 360s, one very long couch that can accommodate 16 children. Needless to say, Eric had an absolute blast. He was able play video games without a timer being set and me barking at him 'It's time to get off...NOW'!
Saturday we went and had our family pictures taken at a very nice, very conveniently located, very well known photography studio. For those that know about our 'wall', we will soon have another to add to the Kim Jew shrine. Even better, we were given a special that includes 50% off their packages.....ginormous savings!! With the savings, we are thinking of pulling out some archived sessions and printing up a couple from the kids' baptism sessions. All we have in print is one of Gregory and Jacob in their baptism gowns. Kind of exciting to be able to see the photos taken so long ago. The studio keeps all their files, especially now that they take digitally, and periodically sells the files. Well, we haven't been able to purchase any files since before the kids were born. That should tell you how long they keep the files. TOO LONG!
After that we picked up Catalena. Luke and Laurel went to a Lobo's basketball game with my parents and that freed up an afternoon for us to take the older kids to see Avatar. Bill and I went to see it several weeks ago and knew the kids would really like it...despite the few bad words, we felt it was worthy of them seeing it. We told them we were going to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. As often as we get to a regular theater, not the dollar theater, they were happy to see anything! We couldn't believe it when we saw that the early bird ticket price was only $5.75....SCORE!! Boy were they surprised when we breezed past the theater for Alvin and the Chipmunks and breezed right on into the Avatar theater! Catalena sat next to me and I have to say it was pretty sweet when she reached out to grab my hand and squeezed like crazy during the sad parts. I hope Laurel will be that way when she's 11! They all really liked the movie.
Last stop of the day was for dinner. We took them to Fuddruckers, and once again, we found a major bargain!! Kids meals for those ages 12 and under were just $2.99! Seriously! Wow, the small things in life that make us happy......a burger (a pretty decent sized burger too), fries and drink....$2.99. Makes me wish I was 11 again! A super great day, full of laughs, good food and bargains!
Today was church and then the boys went to Catalena's for the day to play. L, L and E have had the house to themselves and even though it is QUITE cold outside, they are playing away on those big wheels. Thank you Santa!

Fun day! Did they love the movie? We've considered it for our kiddos. I definitely don't think Grant could sit through it, and G will more than likely fall asleep, but still. We might have to give it a try.
