Day 2...melting at Silver Dollar City

So, I am sitting pool side-INSIDE-while all the kids play in the pool with Uncle Nate, Aunt Mimi, Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Billy (my Bill) before Nate and Mary take off for home this afternoon. The heat is oppressive to say the least, but it is supposed to break over the weekend. Thank goodness for small miracles.....we like water but it's getting a little old being the only form of entertainement we can handle!!
Before we realized how freakishly HOT it was, we went to Silver Dollar City and had a good, sweaty time. This was the day that both of us sweat like, well, pigs! Our first ride stop was a big raft ride. We got wet.....not soaked but refreshing....
Next stop was a flume/tube ride. We got wet. No, we got underwear soaking wet. And it was weight based, so we had to have some stranger ride with us because me and any 3 of my kids didn't weigh enough. SO poor Laurel had some strange kids legs wrapped around her. Not happy campers were they. This ride got us so wet that we were wet the rest of the day. It was good......couldn't tell if what was dripping from us was sweat or water! It did get my phone wet in one of our bags and it is no longer functioning properly. Guess we should have bought a .50 water proof bag! See how wet Luke's head is?!!!!

Ever met a cucumber named Larry? How about a tomato named Bob? (could be the other way around) Look what you're missing if you haven't! Gregory and Jacob thought they were too old to be photographed with produce.Remember those roller coasters I said I liked? I now have one, possibly two companions to ride with me. Jacob likes them. Eric? Well, he tried and survived but is on the fence about trying again. Here we are taking off on Powderkeg-The kids had a good time on these pull along seats. Bill got his weight lifting quota for the day handled too. Hand over hand, he pulled himself up to the top of the pole. We're heading back there after the weekend. After it's supposed to be cooler than 110 degrees. SO much to see still and lots of cool shops to go through. Might finish my Christmas shopping early! Well, my kids are turning into prunes from all the water and Nate's ready to head for Omaha. Gotta go....BYE!!

Did I forget to warn you about that raft ride? Oops, sorry!

Your pics make me want to go to Branson right now!

Have fun!

You don't know Veggie Tales? We love Larry and Bob! I'll share some of their finer work when you get home.

Really, Robin? She's sure not selling me on the place!!

I'm sure it is fun there--the heat just sounds awful! At least you're getting some good pictures out of the deal.
