At such an early age.....

It's official. My kids, at the ripe old age of nearly 10, 7 and 4, are now, and forever will be, known as 'lake bums'. No matter the weather or water temperature...they are glutton for punishment. They MUST get wet, or else begging, whining and pleading soon follow. And here's the proof.........
We have some wonderful friends that we met through the boys' school and they also have a place at the lake (how ironic is that?)....and they have a boat we'll all fit on!!! They invited us for an inagural summer boat ride and the kids were SO READY! Even Parker was tail wagging excited

Now, the weather was nice, not hot, but a little breezy. This lake is fed by a river and runff, so it's NOT a 'warm' lake, especially in April. Do you think that crossed the kids minds in even the briefest of moments? No. They wanted to get wet. And Parker, well, this picture says volumes about his feelings

Then they donned their wetsuits and jumped in. The water was so cold, maybe 60 degrees? I think they were being warmed by adrenaline and pure excitement! Eric was the first in and encouraged the othersAnd here they all are. The hats are silly lookin' I know, but they have been trained to wear them at all times to avoid a nasty sunburn. Besides, they remind us of WARM Hawaii! They climbed up this big rock face and warmed up. Luke and Laurel on the other hand were NOT given the option of swimsuits. They hung out on the shore and in the icky sticky..... MUD. What's a trip to the lake without a mud fight between friends? They were covered. So was Parker and our friend's dog Sunny.

Does this look like an 'I'm king (and queen) of the world' moment?Lake+cold water+boat+friends+food= a great time. Can't wait for it to get warmer!

Ahhh, I love the lake for you guys. It is definitely to you what the big ranch is to us.

Happy you're getting to go back. Oh, hats are cute. Have you ever considered cowboy hats? Hee Hee. Kidding, of course.
