Who the heck invented recorders?

And what EXACTLY were they thinking when they did?! Did they realize how many millions of mothers would be tortured when their children brought them home and proudly boasted that they could play the theme song from Star Wars? Or better yet, how bad it would be when all the little brothers and sisters got a hold of those recorders? Here is a little sampling of the brother and sister example just mentioned:

And one of the boys can actually play the Star wars theme....well, umm, that is if you only count the first 5 or 6 notes! Parker is about ready to hit the roof when they start screeching on those things! I think the recorders are going to have to magically disappear, although there is the possibility they can be used to annoy our neighbor.....naahh.....

Bill is almost on his way home. He'll board the plane in about 3 hours...but won't be home for 24 hours.......ick....
