Green Acres is the place for me

Only because we are walking down a private dirt road that we live on are Luke and Laurel dressed this way! I have to say that living in a rural setting does have some advantages one doesn't always think of.....like letting your children wear whatever the heck they want without the scrutiny of nearby neighbors. Our terrific neighbor Fernando came out and grinned at the kids and he thought they were a hoot! L and L get up from their naps with barely enough time to get out the door to walk down and get G, J and E from the bus....thank goodness for slip on boots, heck, even heavy winter ones are good in our house! Luke is most definitely ready for that heavy rainstorm we may get any day :-) Oh, and that bungy cord will be our rescue rope should that rainstorm wash us away!! And yes, I know, his hat is 2 sizes too small, but his other one is being washed.....

Bill is somewhere overhead flying back home, barely making his connection in Oakland due to a mechanical problem with the plane in Portland. The only reason he is coming home at such a terrible hour (supposed to land at midnight) is so we can both attend G and J's big class project 'Marsville'. Both of their classes have been working on this for months, making habitats that their 'aliens' can live in, creating board games, making uniforms and participating in other hands on learning activities too! They had to keep an alien journal for a while that was written from their alien's point of view...fun creative stuff!! There is a big potluck (which I got assigned a main course for BOTH classes, what gives?!) too. They are excited and I'll be sure to take pictures to share.
Let's hope we don't get abducted!! Good night :-)
