My favorite martians

G and J did a great job with their Marsville projects!! Both classes put so much work and effort into it and they were so proud to show it off! Bill and I felt a bit like ping pong balls going back and forth between classes, but the boys know that's what happens. Each class met in their classroom and then individual groups got up and sang a song they had made up about space....to a familiar tune, that is. Both of the groups they were in happened to choose the same tune 'Take Me Out To the Ballgame'.....Bill got Gregory's on camera vido, I got Jacob's on regular video.
This is Jacob and his group

This is Gregory and his group singing.....or it could possibly be classified as singumbling...a combination of singing and mumbling :-)

After the 'performance', we were able to look through all the work they have done for Marsville-moon journal, postcards from pen pals from the other class, ABC space books...very cool! Each team designed a logo for their shirts and after they painted their shirts individually, the logo was ironed on (or something like that) and Jacob designed the one for his team. Then we went to the gym to wait for them to march in, inflate their 'habitats' and then chow down on a GREAT potluck. You know how potlucks are, even though the tables are full of food there's nothing to eat? Well, not this potluck-there was so much to eat and there were actually more main courses than desserts, weird, I know!? It was great, but I don't think the boys ate much, they were too excited to enter the habitats and play the games that each team had designed. G's team designed space Monopoly (which we had to give him a hard time because he is a very sore loser at Monopoly) and J's team designed a game where players had to collect pieces to build their spaceship!!

The kids marching into the gym-G is holding white flag

Habitats inflated

We got Eric out of class so he could enjoy the boys' project work as well. He is inside one of the inflated habitats. There is a tunnel connecting them.....cool,huh?

Mrs Cordova and Jacob, Mrs Horcasitas and Gregory

Some weird looking alien people the boys found to stand next to!

Gregory's team game

Jacob's team game

So now hopefully you can feel like part of the alien nation we were a part of yesterday. Pray we don't blow away before you visit here again...the winds are gusting up to 60 mph today-I just love looking out the front windows to see dirt and dust making clouds to thick they block out the sun! Until next time......

Way impressive! Looks like we're going to the wrong school!

I thought those aliens standing by the boys look pretty cool. ;)
