After avoiding the inevitable, 2 kids finally decided to put on the water skis and give it a good try. It took a little coaxing but I'm pretty sure they were happy with themselves for trying!
First up, Catalena. As always, she tackled the job with a smile and an 'I can do this attitude'! It took about 6 or 7 tries but she got up for a minute. It may not sound like much, but to be pulled behind a boat on 2 pieces of wood while going 20 miles an hour is a little daunting at 11 years old.
She's going to try again tomorrow and hope for a little longer in the upright position. Next up was Gregory. After he saw Catalena's successes he had a little bit more confidence and agreed to give it a try too. He has tried before in the past and gotten up just once. Today was another story-he did SO GREAT!! Popped right up out of the water once giving the 'hit it' command and stayed up for a few minutes. Well, it seemed like a few minutes but probably wans't quite that long!!
Yay for them!! Now that they have had success, trying again tomorrow is on the list of things to do. The day was filled with 3 person tube riding, losing a croc in the sticky mud, rock jumping and diaper diving.....so need a visiual on that one! Hopefully the wind will be at bay tomorrow so we can have another fun day.

SO exciting!!! I saw the title of this on FB last night right as I was telling Jas how great it is to watch your kids tackle something they used to be scared to do! My (previously water shy) kids are now swimming like little fish thanks to an awesome swim coach! You're making me want to head out to the lake! xoxo

Good for them. I bet they were super proud. You guys sure get good use out of that lake. Love it.
