Spring Soccer? So confusing!

So why is it we call it 'Spring Soccer'? To this point in the season.....it hasn't existed! I think it should be renamed. And so, in an ode to Forrest Gump, I present to you:

Spring Soccer, it's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get-

One week it might be-Spring soccer, the day looks lovely! Looks can be deceiving.

or

Spring Soccer, dress in layers! You'll start off freezing and end up sweating.

or

Spring soccer, you're going to freeze no matter what! Dress like it's sub zero outside and bring the blanket, hat and gloves.

or

Spring soccer, don't forget the sand bags for your chair! You might get up to cheer and your chair will be gone when you go to sit down. Thank you gale force winds.

or

Spring soccer, don't floss beforehand! You'll need to floss after to remove all the sand. Thank you gale force winds.

or

Spring soccer, don't forget the sunscreen! As soon as you apply, the snow clouds will roll in.

or

Spring soccer, you knew better! Hurry up and find the long sleeve under soccer clothes you put away 4 weeks ago. You're child is going to freeze.

or

Spring soccer, OMG it's hot! Remember that sunscreen?

Luke and Laurel had their first game this past Friday. I was so ready to not even go. It was SUPER windy AND cold. But no, the game wasn't cancelled, so we went. And froze. And dressed them in layers.

And cheered their wind-blown-chasing-the-soccer-ball-around game. Such cuties!

The next morning was still cold for the big boys' game-

Yet by the afternoon.......it was warm. And windy. GO figure!

Wonder what that box of chocolates has in store for us this weekend?

You know what I say about that soccer business! ;) Good luck out there this spring. You can laugh at me now--our kids are in track.
