So Luke woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, so we figured with all the hydrating we did the night before, he had kicked his heat induced yuckiness. We once again packed up sandwiches (we're really getting sick of sandwiches by this time) and chip bags and snacks and drinks and sunscreen and towels and kids AND headed out the door to Waterpark USA.
We all made a mad rush to find some lounge chairs in shade and then headed to the water. It was overcast and starting to sprinkle....do you think that deterred the kids? Umm, no. Me? Ummm, yes. But with kids dragging me along, there was no way to refuse! While Mark and Jen hung with Alex and Nolan in the smaller kids area, the rest of us headed to a tube ride with a long line forming. When we were about half way up to the ride, Luke started to look a little bit wilted......sad face, draggy. As hard as it is to feel if someone has a fever when they're wet, I tried my best and was pretty sure he was warm again. He still wanted to ride the ride so he hung in til we reached the top. I got him back to the lounge chair and this is what happened next.....
He slept for about 2 hours-thankfully the sky remained cloudy. While he was resting, Laurel played with Nolan and Alex-
And after he woke up? He had his pep back. It really wasn't my first choice to let him get up and back into the water, but try keeping a 6 year old fish, who claimed up and down that he felt all better, out of the water! We took turns riding a tube ride that was next to the kiddie area. My brother, such a doof!

We ended our water park day playing in their wave pool (no comparison to Typhoon lagoon, but the kids loved it anyway). All 3 girls decided to gang up on Uncle Mark....and.....
take him.....
DOWN!!!
We probably could have spent another whole day there since the park was huge and there were plenty of rides we didn't get to. Maybe next time? On tap for dinner, more Pierce's BBQ-but this time we ate at the condo since the kids were all wiped out. Restaurants and wiped out kids don't mix, but couches and uncles sure do!!
*Currently, we are HOME!! We got home Thursday evening-July 21st, and my oh my, did our house and my parents and our dog look wonderful! And now.......well, what would one expect after unloading 7 weeks worth of stuff? The house is a disaster area, but our own beds and some personal space are well worth the mess. For a few days anyhow!*
