Even before their lessons started, Luke was showing a new comfort level in the pool. No longer is it safe to say he'll stay in the shallow end where he's told to stay...oh no! He's quite happy to swim under the rope and test out his new found courage. With supervision, he can swim across the short end of the pool with his face in the water and use his arms! Such a little fish he is.....enough so that I think his swim lessons were pretty much play time for him!
As for Laurel, the lessons have helped her get stronger, both in swimming and in voice lessons. Oh. My. Word. That child of mine has got the LOUDEST voice for a girl. Sheesh.....but anyhow, she is doing very well in the water too. Not quite as strong as Luke, but she sure knows how to jump in, while holding her nose closed at all times of course, and swim for the pool side.
Eric, well, water should have been his middle name....that and shrimp!! He may be small but he packs a good swimming stroke. He can swim almost the whole way across the pool the long way, can tread water and has kept track of his goggles to this point too! Now that is impressive......
The lessons are now over and it's yet again, another sign of growing up! A summer tradition has been well handled and passed. That can only mean one thing.
We're going to the pool again. Soon!

We did a week of lessons, but then everything else took over! And if I took my kids swimming every once in a while it might help!
