The Alpine Slides in Park City, Utah provided a FULL day of fun for the family. And with the cost associated with taking a family of 8 for a full day, we intended to make the absolute most of it! We got there when it opened at 11am and stayed til' they closed the mountain down at 8pm.
First stop-the chairlifts on the way up the mountain. Now, usually chairlifts kind of freak me out, especially as my mind envisions different ways for my kids to slip off the thing. I came up with a whole lot of different scenarios. But this chairlift, well, it ran about as slow as molasses and the kids LOVED it!
The weather was perfect....enough of a breeze to make jeans comfortable and enough sun to take the chill off the wind. Once we hopped off the chair lift
we got to haul our carts a LONG way...
well, it was a long way when pulling a 25+lb cart..........
then the kids hurriedly plunked them down on the slide and away we went!
Each time down the slide took only minutes and the chairlift ride took at least 10 up the mountain, but we got in at least 6 times down the slides. There were plenty of other options that kept the kids very opinionated......'let's go do that now'.....'no, I want to go to THAT now, not that'.......
The rock wall got plenty of attempts made by all of us. Except me. Dangling on a rope while looking ridiculous while trying to find a foot hold...thanks, I'll pass! I have tried before and usually make a spectacle of myself landing on my rear!
Eric was the only one of the bunch to make it to the top, later in the day!!
Ever been on an alpine slide roller coaster? Basically, the cart is on a track, then pulled up to the top of the mountain and then the driver has control to make the cart go down as fast or slow as they want. Slow is not a word the kids use very frequently, so FAST is the only way to go!

P.S. There were no kids on the lift to witness me sticking my tongue out!! Nope, now they'll just get to see it on the blog.

From now on, I need you to be my travel guide. You guys come up with some really fun trips! How much did doing on this fun on the slides, lift, ride cost? Was it one set price or did you have to pay individually? After our Chicago trip, I'm a little repulsed by the cost of everything. We would pay to get in a museum--like $22 per kiddo--and then they would charge to see certain parts! Grrrr.
Hope your trip was less costly.
